Old Cahaba connection to HMS Open

An interesting story that started yesterday and ended today with Merlot Chic. The result is that City Hall was able to get CSX to open the connecting road between Old Cahaba and HMS. Woot!

So - why can't they also open up the part from Hillsboro on Hway 52 to Co 91 as it looks good, too? Seems the hold up with the full parkway being open is the lack of complete turn lanes onto the parkway, on down Hway 17.

Woot! about part being open...I think the rest is not open b/c it is still property of USSteel...once that changes...I think it will open...hopefully any day now!

what tickets are the cops giving on it then since it's not public property? trespassing? do they have specific permission to be on it or are they trespassing also?

Apparently they were acting on the behalf of US Steel. Something they were authorized to do a while back and if I am not mistaken still can on their property.

so it is trespassing? not trying to be argumentative, genuinely curious. just curious about what vehicular laws police could enforce on private property. same way I've always wondered why cops don't like to do accident reports at malls cause they are private property but still can give tickets. i've never gotten one so I've never had an opportunity to find out how it works.
