Site Guidelines

In order to keep this a place where our fellow Helenites want to visit, please help us by following these simple rules.
1. Personal attacks are unacceptable.
Personal attacks are content that insults, demeans, embarrasses or humiliates another member or group of members of our community based upon her or their character, decisions, personal choices or beliefs.
2. Hate-speech is not permitted.
"Hate speech" is words or actions which ridicule, degrade, harass, insult or intimidate a person or group of people based upon their race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, class, or mental capacity.
3. Do not deliberately disrupt the community.
Examples include using an alternate screen name to circumvent the community rules (Members who use alternate or secondary screen names to violate our rules may be banned immediately without recourse.)
4. Bullying or harassment will not be tolerated.
5. Illegal activity is not allowed on the site.
6. No profanity or pornography.
We don't want to display vulgar words on the homepage or other feeds. If you use profane language, your post may be edited by our admins or deleted entirely.
7. Don’t solicit or reveal personal information or private content – yours or theirs.
You may post pictures of yourself or immediate family, but pictures of or including minor children that are not your own will be deleted. If you choose to share your email address or any other personal information in a post or private message, know that you do so at your own risk.
8. No SPAM. You can post a link to your favorite cause or charity, or link to your business within the appropriate section of the site, HOWEVER:
You cannot recruit (including but not limited to direct-sales, surveys or links to special codes).
You cannot create a membership for marketing or market research purposes.
If you send or exchange money or goods as a result of contacts made through our site it is entirely at your own risk.
By participating in our community you are agreeing to abide by the spirit and letter of our guidelines, and to submit to their interpretation and enforcement by our administrators. (Yes, there is more than one administrator!) The site rules/guidelines may change at any time without notice, and changes are usually the result of identifying problems that crop up from time to time on a public forum. We rely on our members to alert us to any problems, as we cannot monitor this forum 24/7.
Violations of these rules may result in your membership being blocked or banned from participating any or all areas of our community and/or your membership being closed and/or your content removed from our site. We don't want to be mean, so please don't make us.
We respect your privacy and do not reveal, share, sell or otherwise distribute email or IP addresses unless ordered to do so by a court of law.
